Highfield Hall has all the fancy bits you’d hope for in a Grade II listed manor house – sweeping staircases, big ol’ sash windows, and beautiful high-ceilinged rooms with actual chandeliers (which we always love performing under!).

But it’s not stuffy or too posh to party – it’s laid-back in all the right ways. Whether you're saying your vows in the Orangery filled with light, heading out to the garden pavilion for an outdoor ‘I do’ with rolling hills behind you (Moel Famau waving hello!), or just sipping cocktails on the lawn, it’s a venue that flexes to fit your vibe.

From Georgian Grandeur to Garden Charm

One of the first things we clocked when we arrived? The smells from the kitchen. Absolute heaven.

The team at Highfield Hall really care about the food – and they give you loads of choice. We’ve seen everything from elegant three-course menus to fun stuff like hog roasts and BBQs, and even a cute little picnic set-up once. Whatever you go for, it’s all about relaxed, tasty, feel-good food. A perfect match for our kind of party.

The main celebration space is versatile and effortlessly stylish. The Orangery – with its stunning natural light during the day and warm glow by night – transforms beautifully from a serene ceremony setting into a lively evening party spot. With plenty of room for dancing, mingling, and singing your heart out, it's the kind of place that feels just right – not too big, not too small, just the perfect party atmosphere.

We’ve played first dances here that felt like movie moments – couples wrapped up in each other, fairy lights twinkling, surrounded by their favourite people. And once the slow songs are done? That dancefloor fills fast. There’s something about the way Highfield Hall flows from room to room that means guests are always involved – whether they’re grabbing a drink from the bar, catching up in the lounge, or front and centre for a good old-fashioned dance-off.

From a live band (hello! that’s us) to a DJ spinning floor-fillers ‘til late, the sound setup and layout work brilliantly. As live wedding musicians, we love the way the room carries energy – you can feel the joy bouncing off the walls. Whether it's Motown, indie, classic singalong anthems or modern chart-toppers, it sounds amazing and the dancefloor always feels electric.

There’s also loads of space for extras – think photo booths, sparkler send-offs, sweet tables, or even the odd saxophonist or roaming drummer to take things up a notch. Highfield Hall doesn’t just allow for an epic party – it encourages it. We've seen conga lines snake through the Orangery, spontaneous karaoke breakouts (you know who you are), and full wedding bands getting encores because nobody wanted the night to end.

Another win – there are 16 bedrooms onsite, so your nearest and dearest can stay over. Which basically means the celebrations don’t need to stop. Some of our favourite memories come from the next morning – sleepy smiles, breakfast chats, and the inevitable “my feet still hurt from dancing” groans. Totally worth it.

A little shoutout to the crew behind the scenes – they are absolute diamonds. Super friendly, calm in a crisis (we’ve seen them re-pin buttonholes in gale-force wind), and genuinely up for making your day as ‘you’ as possible.
